*Trick-or-treating in Methuen: Little ghosts and goblins will fan out across the city in search of Halloween treats Friday, Oct. 31 from 5-7pm! Pedestrians should use flashlights, travel in groups if possible and pay attention when crossing the street. If you’re behind the wheel of a vehicle at that time, please drive carefully. *Vintage Car Show: Oct. 5, noon-3pm at Timberlane Performing Arts Center, 40 Greenough Road, Plaistow, NH. You’ll receive 2 free tickets to the Deep Blue C Studio Concert just for showing up with your vintage car. Concert starts at 3pm, after the car show, in the PAC Auditorium.
*Methuen Fall Festival: Oct. 18, noon-3pm at Greycourt Park in Methuen. Costume contest, candy, giveaways, games, etc. Rain date: Oct. 25. Sponsored by Mayor DJ Beauregard and the Methuen Parks and Rec Department.
*Forest Street Church Rummage Sale: Oct. 18, 8am-noon at 15 Forest St., Methuen.
*St. Lucy’s Fall Craft Fair: Oct. 25, 9am-3pm, featuring 50 vendors, many raffles and a Used Book Sale Family-friendly paperbacks and hard covers can be dropped off at the Schoolhouse following Mass between Oct. 4 to 18. *Village Craft Fair: Nov. 8, 9am-3pm at First Congregational Church, 15 Lawrence Road, Salem, NH. An array of handmade crafts plus baked goods, raffle items and a snack bar.
*Methuen Veterans Day Parade: Steps off Nov. 11 at 10am. The route steps off from American Legion Post 122 and heads north on Broadway, left at the clock tower onto Hampshire Street, left onto Lowell Street past the Central Fire Station, left on Grove Street and stops at the Legion Memorial plot in Walnut Grove Cemetery for a brief ceremony. After the ceremony, the parade will re-form and return to the Legion post via the same route. Thank you, veterans!

*Light Up Methuen Holiday Tree Decorating Contest: Event runs Dec. 6-Jan. 2, but deadline to sponsor a tree is Nov. 17. This Methuen Rotary Club fund-raiser encourages sponsors to decorate a tree on behalf of their business, school, home, etc., for this citywide holiday contest. Tree photos will be published on the Rotary’s Facebook page and voted on by the public. Prizes will be awarded to the top 3 trees. Wreath sponsorships are also available.
