LOVE was in the air at the Timony School’s Special Someone Dance, held just before Valentine’s Day. But for these kindergartners to second-graders, it wasn’t the yucky lovey-dovey kind of love … it was love of friends and family and school! About 150 people dressed in their fanciest clothes and took part in the dance, which was organized by the Timony PTO. Guests enjoyed snacks and the upbeat music of a DJ, as balloons and sparkly decorations transformed the Upper School gym into a dance club! Kids zipped and zoomed across the space, leaving the grown-ups to fend for themselves around the gym’s perimeter. The volume was LOUD as the kids screamed to friends, sang songs and chased one another. There was plenty of running, hugging and smiling … and even some dancing with their Special Someones when the time was right!

Second-grader Sofia Herrera does a twirl in her fancy frilly dress accented with red hearts!

Kindergartner Lincoln Baker was a sharp-dressed man in his red shirt, black vest and bow tie. When his mom fell ill just before the event, it was “Nana” Luanne Bonanno to the rescue! Of course, they had beautiful matching flowers accenting their outfits … that’s a MUST when you run Pleasant Valley Gardens!

First-grade friends Nevaeh Fuentes-Medina (at left, with dad Jose) and Aria Mireku (with dad Kwab) were excited to hit the dancefloor!

The red sparkly bow tie of kindergartner Matteo, shown with mom Aimee Ciccariello, reflected the energy and love experienced during the dance.

There’s all kinds of love, including the love you feel for your family and friends! Here, second-grade best buds Jacob King (left) and Jayden Sims pose for a picture. “My dad bought me this suit,” Jacob smiled.

Kids zipped around the gym at high speed – some solo, others holding a friend’s hand and others with their Timony chums.

This smiley trio includes (from left) Alaina Reese, her dad Tom and Alaina’s friend Martinez Abruzzese. The girls are in kindergarten.

Dressed in their Valentine’s Day best, this trio of girls heads off the dance floor to meet up with another friend.
