During a Touch a Truck event at Texas Roadhouse recently, the Methuen Kiwanis Club held a book drive. Kiwanis Club members installed book shelves at local laundromats so that children and parents can read while waiting through the wash and dry cycles. Thanks to the Laundromat Program, users are encouraged to keep whichever books they choose. Here, Kiwanis member and Texas Roadhouse Local Store Marketer Kristen Snay (left) and Texas Roadhouse employee Amber Fleming hold some of the nearly 1,000 books donated. Shout-out to Snay’s friend, Carly Nunez, an assistant principal at the Tarbox School in Lawrence, who donated five boxes of books! ML photo by Nancy Reardon
