Custodians are the behind-the-scenes workers who make schools SHINE!
At Marsh Grammar School, the dedication of the custodial staff is essential to maintaining a clean and welcoming environment for students and staff alike. On Oct. 2, in honor of Custodians Day, the school community came together to show appreciation for these hard-working individuals: Bob Birch, Doug Crawford, Dan Marcello, Shawn Owen, Greg Zuill, Juan Felix, Warren Karl and Ryan Harnish.
The Marsh PTO led efforts to celebrate the custodial team, reaching out to the community for support. Thanks to the generosity of local donors, they successfully collected a range of items to enhance the custodians’ work environment including a fridge, microwave, air fryer toaster, Keurig coffee maker, pantry cart, snacks and personalized gifts.
“This celebration is a small token of our gratitude for their daily contributions,” said a representative from the Marsh PTO. “Our custodians are vital to the smooth operation of our school, and we wanted them to know how much they are valued.”
“The appreciation event highlighted the importance of every member of the school community, reinforcing the message that teamwork is essential for a thriving educational environment. The custodial staff at Marsh Grammar School truly deserve this recognition for their dedication and commitment,” the PTO stated. “As the school year progresses, the Marsh community remains grateful for the shining efforts of its custodial team, who work tirelessly behind the scenes to keep the school running smoothly.”
