Last month, the Methuen Scholarship Foundation wrapped up its 2-night telethon with $45,000 in donations for seniors! Contributions as well as bids on the 100-plus impressive auction items (signed Taylor Swift guitar, anyone?) continued through until April 1.

All money raised goes toward scholarships for the Class of 2024.

The telethon – a longtime Methuen High tradition – featured not only live musical acts and other performers and special guests, but pre-recorded statements by MHS seniors explaining their school involvement, their plans for the future and how a scholarship would help them accomplish their dreams.

Emcees Martha Tatro and Al DeLano spoke highly of this year’s seniors and encouraged them to reach for the stars. They ended the telethon by recognizing the volunteers, student performers and helpers, school leaders, parents, camera crew and community – all of whom helped with the event’s success.

“We can’t thank everybody enough!” DeLano said.
