Golf or pickleball, anyone?

The Ingram Senior Center in nearby Salem, N.H., accepts non-resident seniors (age 60-plus) to participate in its Outdoor-Only Activities of aquarobics, golf, pickleball and tennis. They will accept registrations beginning April 8 and the fee is $25 for the year. You may register at the center or online at salemnh.myrec.com for these programs. All activities officially start in May.

The Ingram Senior Center is located at 1 Sally Sweet’s Way.

Happy spring! Time to open the windows and hear the sounds of birds chirping, children’s laughter, the fresh smell of the spring’s air …
what a great time of year!

Sometimes we place too much emphasis on things that are either out of our control or things that we can’t understand or change. This is why spring is so important to our health and well-being.
We spring into life feeling refreshed and renewed. So today, leave yesterday behind, leave tomorrow in the future and spring into today!

Karaoke is back!

Join us Tuesday, April 23 at 1:30pm for your chance to let loose and sing, sing, sing! Music is the key to your heart and soul!

Trips for 2024!

Be sure to check out the trips that are being offered at the center.

Us vs.Them

For the past 14 years, the Methuen Police Department and the Methuen Senior Activity Center have shared this wonderful event of 45s to open the doors of communication between the police and seniors. This program has been recognized over the years through TRIAD. The program gets the police and the seniors to establish friendships so that if the seniors need to call 9-1-1, they know a friend is coming to their aid. Sign up for this event, scheduled for April 30 at 1pm.

40th anniversary celebration

The Methuen Senior Activity Center has been a part of the community for 40 years. We are gearing up to host a celebration to commemorate this beautiful center that so many have and continue to call their home away from home. Watch for details in the next issue of MethuenLife and also in the center’s newsletter.

Legal consults

On Wednesday, April 10, attorney Peter McQuillan will hold office hours by phone for free 15-minute consultations. Reservation required by calling the center.

Join the chorus

The Happy Hearts Chorus meets every Thursday at 1pm to rehearse for upcoming shows. The chorus sings for city events, Senior Center events and at nursing homes, assisted-living facilities and veteran homes. We invite you to join this wonderful group of volunteers who do so much for so many!

New partnership

The center recently established a new partnership with Notre Dame Christo Rey High School. We will be working closely with students to enhance our organization and contribute to their educational journey. The students are not only dedicated to their academic pursuits, but also committed to working hard to help pay for their education. Their experience here at our center will play a vital role in their development, providing them with valuable skills and opportunities as they work toward college and building a life filled with choices and opportunities.

As we are joining this partnership more than halfway through the school year, we are delighted to welcome two students who will be assisting us. One student will be available on Tuesdays, and another will be here Wednesdays, both stationed at the front desk. Let’s extend a warm welcome and make them feel appreciated as they become part of our wonderful, vibrant, and active community here at the Methuen Senior Activity Center. Together, we can make this partnership a success and create a positive impact on the lives of these students and our community.
