Scout builds picnic tables & benches for Housing Authority

For his Scout project, Ethan Shapiro decided on building two octagon-shaped picnic tables and two large benches. A member of Troop 51, Ethan researched how to build them by watching YouTube videos.

With the help of family and friends, Ethan completed his project with great results.

The tables and benches were donated by Ethan to the Methuen Housing Authority on Mystic Street.

The Scouts also recently delivered and assembled two handcrafted picnic tables and benches to the Methuen Housing Authority, with the support of Executive Director Anne-Marie Moglia and Maintenance Supervisor Matt DiZoglio.

Ethan was assisted by his parents Jason and Ann Shapiro, fellow Eagle Scout and brother Brendan Shapiro, Troop 51 Methuen Leadership Scoutmaster Bill Corcoran, troop committee chair Roxanne Permatteo, Assistant Scoutmaster Frank Permatteo, Chair Mike Hemond and fellow Scouts Kenzie Demers and Aleesiya Permatteo. Ethan graciously thanked City Council Chairman Ron Marsan, a local builder, for his assistance in delivering the tables and benches.
