Marsh School
opens Care Closet
The Marsh School is creating The Care Closet, a place for students to get items they may need for self-care. The public is invited to contribute travel-size items, where applicable. Sought-after items include toothpaste, toothbrushes, body wash, hand soap, lotion, socks, Chap Stick, deodorant, feminine hygiene products, disposable wipes, etc.
Donations are collected year-round and can be dropped off at the Pelham Street school Monday through Friday, 8am-3pm at either the Upper or Lower school offices. You can also purchase items from the Care Closet Amazon Wish List. Info: MarshCareCloset@gmail.com. Parents should contact their child’s guidance counselor if they could benefit from any of the items.
Scholarship opportunity
The John Bellino Charitable Foundation is a 501(c)(3) located in Methuen. Last year the foundation awarded seven $500 scholarships to high school graduating students from Methuen. This year the foundation’s goal is to award eight $500 scholarships.
There are 2 scholarship categories. Students planning to pursue careers in the construction/building trades such as electrical, plumbing, HVAC, landscaping or carpentry are eligible to receive the John Bellino scholarships. Students planning to pursue careers in business such as banking, accounting, marketing, computer science or management are eligible to receive the Warren Russell scholarships.
Students can obtain scholarship information and applications from the guidance offices of Methuen High School or Greater Lawrence Technical School. Scholarships must be received by April 5.
