On May 14, the Methuen Rotary Club held its annual Celebration of Achievement, honoring individuals who make an impact on our community as well as recognizing the accomplishments of outstanding teachers and students. Club members awarded college scholarships and presented their “Service Above Self” award to Susan Kanoff, executive director of the nonprofit Uncommon Threads in Lawrence, for making a significant contribution to our community.

Here are this year’s honorees:

2024 Teacher of the Year: Carrie Capua of Comprehensive Grammar School.

2024 Student of the Year: Methuen High junior Desmond Csizmadia.

2024 Scholarship Awards: Ibrahim Afzal, Naiyma Cabral, Drew Eason, Carter DeLano and Alexandra Tardugno.

2024 Robert A. Brucker Memorial Scholarship: Alexis Anthony

2024 Connie Doto Realty Group Scholarship: Julia Malowitz and Ava Duffy

2024 Service Above Self: Susan Kanoff
