The 15th annual Relay for Life of Methuen/Merrimack Valley, held June 10 at Nicholson Stadium’s track, raised over $7,000 for the fight against cancer!
This 12-hour event, benefiting the American Cancer Society, included speeches, a Survivor Lap, a Caregiver Lap, a Luminaria Lap honoring those lost to and surviving the disease, and fun activities like a dunk tank, Giant Twister, Bubble Soccer and more.
“We owe a special thanks to Linda Sheehan and Gabby Morgan who shared inspiring stories of their own battles with cancer at our Opening Ceremony,” organizers shared in an event wrap-up message. “Committee lead Angelo Pocoli also touched us with his story about losing his mother to her battle with cancer. We walked our silent Luminaria lap in honor of her and all of the loved ones we have lost. Finally, after twelve hours and countless miles walked, student co-chairs Mika Vuong (‘23) and Jaylen Marsh (‘24) gave us hope of finding a cure at our Fight Back ceremony.”
