The Methuen Pop Warner Varsity Team is headed to Nationals!

After overtaking their competition and earning first place at both the NMPW Championships and the New England Regional Championships, the team of 18 athletes and five coaches will be competing at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Fla., on Tuesday, Dec. 10.

“This season has been such an achievement already with the team declaring a higher level of difficulty [level 3] after being level two for the past few years. They say with higher risk comes higher reward and that is especially true for this team!” head coach and Cheer Director Lauren Leopold tells MethuenLife. “They have conquered all new skills and have performed their way to win after win, most recently earning a 92.73% out of 100% at the Regional Championship. They are looking forward to making Methuen proud on the National Stage!”

The team is led by Leopold, who is assisted by Jacqueline Drapeau, Allyson McCormick, Elizabeth Maroun and Vicki Bergeron. Team members include Sylvi Bergeron, Evelyn Callahan, MacKenzie Cavanaugh, Janelle Charlotin, Nadia Cox, Hailey Cruz, Liana Kehoe, Kayla Marcelin, Valentina Maroun, Kalisse Mauras, Shea McCormick, Jesani Ortiz, Sophia Packer, Caitlyn Reilly, Erianny Santiago, Adriana Simard, Camila Souza and Carmen Williams.

Good luck, Methuen!
