Feels like Spring
But I’m getting ahead of myself
There’s snow in the forecast
Things were different in Finland

A cold shower

The snow changed to rain

Nature will clean the car
I walk along muddy paths

But the car makes nature dirty
A little behind schedule

Feels like Spring

This Spring, The Lilacs

The lilac bush is
heavy with scent,
even the bees are impressed.
The heavy blossoms bow down,
kissing the newly opened peonies.
Together they create a watercolor
in pastels,
the artist’s light touch,
caresses the paper,
gentle violet awash with
innocent pink.
Springtime

Through the mesh of
a homespun straw hat
the world is verdant with
undulating, lush boughs,
catkins, textured trunks,
red buds, tiny serrated leaves,
mare’s tail tickling satin sky,
erratic insects on the hunt,
a mockingbird’s stolen song.
Purple crocus fade as golden
daffodils sing their splendor.
Pink tulips cup the sun.
Spring’s scent dances in
apple blossoms translating
time into the tangible.
