I recently came across this early-1900s photograph of the Lippold family who resided at 151 East St., Methuen. The names listed on the back of the photograph are as follows: parents Carl S. and Amelia; children Herbert R., Irma, Olive S., E. Alvin, Herman O., Charles S., and Maria, Rudolph, Ella C., and Ellen. My 1921 Methuen Town Directory lists Carl Lippold’s occupation as farmer. The photograph studio listed is Berkeley Studio of Lawrence.
Joseph G. Bella is vice president/historian of the Methuen Historical Society and has an extensive collection of local memorabilia.
