Sweet dreams are made of cheese
Who am I to Diss a Brie?
I travel the store but it’s all I see
Everybody is looking for cheddar.
Some of them want Havarti,
Some of them want some gouda too,
Some of them want Romano,
Some of them want some cheese that’s bleu.
Sweet dreams are made of cheese
Where can I find the creme brie?
I travel the store at seven thirty
Monterey Jack is looking good here.
Karen Hayden has been enjoying various cheeses since childhood, but until recently never wrote a poem about them. As a member of the Grey Court Poets, Karen usually writes about her life experiences, like trips to the seashore and emotions of love and loss. Since some poems rhyme and some do not, Karen’s style is mixed like her favorite bowl of lobster mac ‘n’ cheese. Bon appetit!
