Methuen High’s theater group, Stage Door 22, presents the rock musical “Godspell” with four shows this month!

This Broadway classic is about the forming of a community that learns to appreciate diversity and differences – all under the guidance of one very dynamic leader. It features a great story with great rock music!

Shows are April 4, 5 and 6 (Thursday through Saturday) at 7pm, with a Saturday matinee set for April 6 at 2pm, at MHS’ Arthur Nicholson III Auditorium. Ticket prices are $12 for adults and $10 for seniors and students. Buy tickets in advance at the school or at the door.

Scholarship open to future tradesmen

The John Bellino Charitable Foundation announced it would be awarding five $500 scholarships to high school graduating students from Methuen.

Students planning to pursue careers in the construction/building trades such as electrical, plumbing, HVAC or carpentry are eligible. Scholarships may be used to further their education, or to provide resources to purchase tools or supplies necessary to succeed in their chosen careers. Scholarship applications are available at johnbellinocharitablefoundation.org or in the Guidance Offices of either Methuen High School or Greater Lawrence Technical School.

John Bellino was an electrician who lived in Methuen. After his retirement, John worked as a substitute teacher at Greater Lawrence Technical School. Following his passing, his wife Kris and son Nick established the foundation. The foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit and all funds raised are used for scholarships. Exchange awaits scholars’ essays

The Methuen Exchange Club’s annual scholarships are now available. Methuen high school seniors who are looking to further their education are welcome to apply. If you can’t find the club’s application forms at your school, e-mail exchangeclubmethuen@gmail.com. The club is giving away 5 scholarships this year. Deadline to apply is May 15.
