Methuen Public Schools’ Central Office officially moved to 9 Branch St., at the end of June. They’re open weekdays 8am-4pm. The new location is the former CREST building, located at the top of Branch Street, in between Dana-Farber and the building that houses the Methuen Festival of Trees.
Here, you’ll find administrative offices and In the fall this site will house MPS’ preschool program.
Superintendent Brandi Kwong stated in a message to parents, “We are excited to be opening our new Early Childhood Center (all preschool programs), Transitions Program (18-22 y/o), and Central Offices at 9 Branch Street this summer. With the support of the City of Methuen’s ARPA (American Rescue Plan Act) funds and the school department ESSER funds, we were able to acquire ownership of the property in December of 2022. We have been preparing the property for students and staff for the past several months utilizing our ESSER funds. The central office will be moving from 10 Ditson Place to 9 Branch Street beginning on June 26, 2023. We will be hosting our Extended School Year students this summer and will welcome our Transitions Program and all Early Childhood Programs in the fall.”
Even though it seems like summer just started, Methuen’s first- to 12th-graders head back to class Wednesday, Aug. 30 which is a full day. The first day for preschoolers and kindergartners is Wednesday, Sept. 6.
