FALL EVENTS

*Marsh School Fall Festival: Nov. 2, 10am-2pm at the Marsh Upper School parking lot on Pelham Street. 25-plus vendors, raffles, food, games and more. Cash only. Organized by the Marsh School PTO.

*Craft Extravaganza at Tenney School: Nov. 3, 10am-3pm. 30 local crafters selling handmade jewelry, wreaths, home decor, tumblers, crochet, candles with live candle-making station, handmade soap and more! Free kid giveaways and craft-making stations. An opportunity to get some early holidays shopping done, enter raffles and support the Tenney PTO!

*The Veterans Den Band will be playing Friday, Nov. 8 at 8pm at the Methuen Memorial Music Hall at 192 Broadway. Held days before Veterans Day, this show will be filled with patriotic, classic and original songs to honor veterans of the U.S. Armed Forces. Admission is $15 for adults, $10 for students, and children age 5 and under and veterans admitted free.

*Veterans Day Parade is Monday, Nov. 11 at 10am. The route steps off from American Legion Post 122 and heads north on Broadway, left at the clock tower onto Hampshire Street, left onto Lowell Street past the Central Fire Station, left on Grove Street and stops at the Legion Memorial plot in Walnut Grove Cemetery for a brief ceremony. After the ceremony, the parade will re-form and return to the Legion post via the same route. Thank you, veterans!

*Fall Bazaar: Nov. 30, 10am-3pm at Methuen Village, 4 Gleason St. Shop from local crafters, enter a raffle and grab some bake sale treats. Event supports the Alzheimer’s Association. Craft-table rental is $35. Call (978) 685-2200 for info.

*Annual OLGC Christmas Fair: Nov. 16, 9am-6pm at Our Lady of Good Counsel’s church hall. Basket raffles, Rudolph Raffle (penny raffle), country store, wine pull and plenty of food and – of course – Santa Claus.

*Happy Holiday Gift Boutique and Garage Sale: Fri., Nov. 22 and Sat., Nov. 23, 10am-4pm at 36 Clementi Lane. Gift baskets, hand-knit items and holiday décor. All proceeds benefit the Christian Fellowship Church of the Merrimack Valley. 

*Methuen Santa Parade: Saturday, Nov. 23, 1pm. Starts at Pelham Street Park and Ride and follows Lowell, Hampshire, Charles and Pleasant, ending on Pleasant View at Nicholson Stadium.

*Methuen Festival of Trees: Three-plus decades of amazing creativity! Event is Nov. 23 to Dec. 7 at 13 Branch St. Over 200 beautiful and creative trees, mini-trees, and wreaths, a $5,000 cash raffle, a holiday Gift Shop, and of course Santa, will help kick-off your annual holiday season. *St. Monica School Christmas Fair: Nov. 23, 9am-5pm in the school hall, 212 Lawrence St. Raffles, games, Sweet Shop, crafts, Country Kitchen, etc.

*St. Basil Salvatorian Center’s annual Christmas Fair: Nov. 30, 9am-3pm at 30 East St. Over 100 international nativities on display. Handmade items, raffles, Nifty Thrifty Basement, home-baked goods, plenty of kids activities, and breakfast and lunch available.

*Light Up Methuen: Let your good will and creativity shine by sponsoring a tree or wreath in front of your business for this popular Methuen Rotary Club fund-raiser! Decorated trees will be posted on the club’s Facebook page and voted on by the public. Prizes will be awarded to trees with the most votes. Voting runs Dec. 7 to Jan. 3. *Holiday Kick-Off Concert: Dec. 1, 3pm at Nevins Library. Join up for an afternoon of music and merriment as Dan Kennedy plays piano versions of popular holiday favorites as well as a few classically tinged compositions of his own. An artist meet-and-greet will follow, and his CD, “An Enchanted Noël,” will be available for purchase. *Methuen Memorial Music Hall Holiday Open House: Dec. 6, 7-9pm at 192 Broadway. Enjoy seasonal music, festive decorations, raffles, light refreshments. Free admission.

*“A Merry Music Hall Christmas:” Dec. 7 at 7pm and Dec. 8 at 3pm, featuring beautiful music and incredible voices! Reserved seating only. $25 for adults, $5 for children. MMMH.org.

*Methuen Tree Lighting: Sunday, Dec. 8 at The Loop. Live music, sleigh rides, pictures with Santa, pony rides, interactive games, holiday train rides, food trucks and more.

*Happy Hearts Holiday Concerts: The Methuen Senior Activity Center’s Happy Hearts Chorus has a pair of shows planned. They’ll sing at the center’s holiday event Dec. 12 at 1pm and will also put on a holiday show Dec. 22, 1pm at the Methuen Memorial Music Hall. Both performances are open to the public. Free.

*“A Christmas Carol”: For the first time, the Methuen Young People’s Theatre is putting on this Charles Dickens classic. Performances are Friday, Dec. 20 at 7pm and Saturday, Dec. 21 at 2pm at Methuen Memorial Music Hall on Broadway. Tickets cost $15 for adults, $5 for children (age 12 and under) and will be available in advance at tix.com and are expected to be sold at the door. Info: mmmh.org.
