Last month, students from The Islamic Academy for Peace achieved remarkable success at the WPI State FIRST LEGO League (FLL) Championship, one of Massachusetts’ most competitive student robotics events.
Out of nearly 500 teams across the state, only 72 teams advanced to the state championship. After earning advancement at the regional level earlier this season, the school’s teams — Lego Stormers and Cyber Cyclones — proudly represented their community at this recent state-level competition.
*Lego Stormers – Core Values Award Winner: The Lego Stormers were recognized for outstanding teamwork, sportsmanship and dedication to FIRST Core Values, earning the Core Values Award. Team members are Esma Boztas, Safa Ubaidu, Yahya Junaid Siddiq, Mohammad Ibrahim Riaz, Mohammed Yasser Azzou, Serine Berhab and Ahnaf Abdullah.
*Cyber Cyclones – Innovation Project Finalist: The Cyber Cyclones were named Innovation Project Finalists, standing out for their creativity, problem-solving skills and innovative thinking at the state championship. Team members are Rihan Shaikh, Zaynab Shakir, Ammar Seifelnasr, Atif Haque, Maryam Zaheer, Roudha Fatima Siddiq and Saja Kofahi.
These recent achievements highlight the students’ dedication, resilience and collaborative spirit, as well as the strong support of mentors, parents and the school community.
