Wielding a pair of giant “lollipops,” Brenda Haryslak and her son Jett, 19, usher in Methuen’s only candy store — Sir Pennycandys Apothecary — adjacent to Methuen Family Restaurant on Broadway. Relocated from Rockport, the shoppe offers old-fashioned candy, Winfrey’s fudge and chocolates, nut-free sweets, ice cream floats and small gifts. The soft opening is Saturday, July 1 from 10am-6pm. Tuesday and Sunday hours are 10am-3pm, while the other days are 10am-6pm.
