The Happy Hearts Chorus members sang their hearts out for veterans and current military members before a large crowd at Nevins Library.

Last month’s Salute to Veterans concert was performed by the chorus, which is headquartered at the Methuen Senior Activity Center and performs under the direction of the center’s Assistant Director Susan Riccio. Riccio opened the show by asking everyone to join in singing the national anthem. Chorus members sang patriotic songs including “You’re a Grand Old Flag,” “God Bless the USA” and “This Land is Your Land.”

Police Chief Scott McNamara and Fire Chief Tim Sheehy were masters of ceremonies. Mayor Neil Perry joined the chorus to sing “White Cliffs of Dover.”

Current members of the Air Force, Army, Coast Guard and Navy attended the concert. When the Chorus sang their branch songs, each member stood before the chorus saluting the audience.
