MAN Inc’s annual Christmas Party on Dec. 21 was an overwhelming success, thanks to the combined efforts of the community. This year’s event featured a festive Grinch theme and was hosted by Kirby and Rocco Mastrangelo of Blue Birch Management at the Merrimack Valley Golf Course.
“We are so grateful for the generous support of Blue Birch Management, who provided an incredible environment for our children to enjoy. We had a delicious meal and the children were able to decorate their own gingerbread cookies that left everyone in awe,” said Linda Soucy, director of MAN Inc. “We couldn’t have done it without their outstanding staff, and we truly appreciate their generosity.”
Each child received presents, provided by many Merrimack Valley “elves” and had the chance to take a picture with Santa, thanks to the Methuen Police Department, who also ensured that all gifts were delivered to the golf course. Mayor DJ Beauregard, Police Chief Scott McNamara, Fire Chief Tim Sheehy, City Councilor Ron Marsan and his family, and Police Officers Aiello, LaFlamme and Little all joined the celebration.
“We also want to thank the Mayor Beauregard, Methuen Exchange Club, Methuen Police and Methuen Fire for their generous contribution, as well as James Garrity (aka Santa), Tracy (aka the Grinch) and all the volunteers who made this event possible,” said Soucy. “A big shoutout to our dedicated youth workers, staff, board members and everyone who helped at the wrapping party to ensure a smooth experience. We also thank Laurie, our bus driver, who went above and beyond by decorating her bus in the Grinch theme for the children and Xiomara who decorated the hall.”
This year, 153 children and their families were the guests of honor, making it one of the largest celebrations in the 25-year tradition.
The mission of the Methuen Arlington Neighborhood is to engage and serve children and families in need with compassion, respect and dignity by building on individual and community strengths to help resolve life challenges together. They provide a safe haven with a “kids come first” approach.
