Farmers market coupons will be given out Wednesday, Aug. 5 at 9am at the center – first come, first served.

Meals on Wheels
drivers needed

The program is looking for volunteers with availability to deliver Meals on Wheels to Methuen residents between 9am and noon, Monday through Friday. For volunteers who want a flexible schedule, stipend and mileage reimbursement, this is rewarding work with a great community of friends and neighbors. Forever Fab

Join us Aug. 5 at 1pm as we take a walk through the life and times of the Beatles. This program will be a great way to learn more about this fabulous beloved group! The program is sponsored by the Methuen Cultural Council and the Massachusetts Arts Lottery.

Hoodsie Social
is staff hosted

Join us Aug. 19 at 1pm as the staff of the center puts on a Hoodsie Social for you and your friends. If you have never been to the center, this is a great way to be introduced to who we are enjoy a sweet treat. Join us for a great afternoon of friendship, music and dancing with DJ Marc Rich!

Volunteer to drive

Looking for a rewarding way to volunteer? Drivers are needed for the NEET (Northern Essex Elder Transportation) to take elders to and from medical appointments. You decide when and where to drive. Mileage reimbursement is provided! Call the center and speak to Cheryl about becoming a volunteer.

Mass Health’s
new program

The second Wednesday of each month from 9:30-11:30am, a representative from Mass Health will be at the center to assist you in applying for benefits.
An appointment is necessary by calling the center at (978) 983-8825.
Support will include applying, renewing, submitting missing documents, verification and answering questions.

Collette Vacations

Looking to travel to destinations near and far? Look no further! Collette Vacations will be at the center Monday, Aug. 10 at 11:30am to discuss upcoming tours and tours for 2027!

Legislation

We launched this new program in July. It will help you stay in touch with state and local government issues that may affect the senior population.
Is it political? NO! Our goal is simply to help seniors become aware of issues that impact them. If you choose, then you can share your thoughts and concerns with local and state officials by phone calls, office hours at the center, e-mail or letter.

Monthly birthday
celebration

If your birthday is in August, join us on the 20th at 11:30am so we can celebrate with YOU! The staff will serenade you with their rendition of the Happy Birthday song! Enjoy a meal and birthday cake. Call the center and reserve your spot at least two days in advance.

with a Cop

We have hosted coffee with a cop; on Aug. 4 from 1-2pm, we will enjoy lemonade. Join us for this event that has been growing by leaps and bounds. This is a great way to learn about our Police Department and the men and women who serve.

The monthly newsletter is available in the main lobby of the center and at Nevins Memorial Library and City Hall.
