A new slate of smart, good-hearted student leaders was recently inducted into Methuen High’s National Honor Society during a ceremony held in Nicholson Auditorium.
To be inducted into NHS at MHS, students need to have a cumulative GPA of at least a 3.8 and demonstrate sufficient evidence for the four pillars of the society: scholarship, leadership, service and character. This evidence is provided through a comprehensive look at a student’s school and community involvement, formal and informal leadership roles, consideration of their character, and volunteer work in their school and community. It is a prestigious recognition that students have to earn and maintain via keeping their GPA above that minimum threshold, maintaining strong character, being leaders in the school and community, and completing community service throughout the school year to maintain membership.
