Bocce players and local volunteers helped an area nonprofit secure important funding to support veteran services.

The nonprofit Bridge Club of Greater Lowell, which services the Merrimack Valley, “creates a nurturing space for individuals in recovery, offering solace community and a path to wellness,” according to its website.

In January, volunteers held a bocce tournament at the Methuen Sons of Italy to support veterans’ programming. Over 100 people attended, raising $4,550 for the cause.
