The Central Catholic High School community was honored to last month welcome The Most Rev. Richard G. Henning, archbishop of Boston, for a special 90th Anniversary Celebration Mass and a tour of the Lawrence campus with students. His visit was the culmination of a year-long celebration of 90 years of Marist, Catholic, college preparatory education at CCHS.
The Mass was concelebrated by Fr. John Delaney, pastor of Sacred Hearts Parish in Bradford, and Fr. Paul Wargovich, priest secretary to the archbishop.

“It was a privilege to welcome Archbishop Henning to Central Catholic during our 90th anniversary year. His visit means a great deal to our school community and highlights the importance of Catholic education and the Marist charism that guides our school each day,” said CCHS President Jodi Linnehan Kriner.

Following Mass, Archbishop Henning toured the school campus with Student Ambassadors Denzel Dume, a junior from Methuen, and Estefania Marrochi Polanco, a junior from Lawrence. Following the tour, the archbishop attended a reception with faculty and staff as well as Marist Brothers and members of the Campus Ministry Team in Central Catholic’s Catalano Memorial Library.
