I have a picture of a photograph taken by Dr. John C. Bowker, circa 1912. Dr. Bowker was a good friend of Edward F. Searles and was an eye doctor from Lawrence. He would come to visit at Pine Lodge and Mr. Searles would play the organ for him. The photograph, taken inside Pine Lodge, is of two kittens cozying up to a sleeping dog.
Dr. Bowker had also taken a small album of photographs of Pine Lodge. The original photograph and the small album were given to Searles protege Angelo “Angy” Ellison after Searles died in 1920.
