Methuen Community Studios (MCS) recently brought home three awards from the Alliance for Community Media Northeast Region Video Festival – the Nor’easters. This festival recognizes video and audio programming produced in small towns to large cities in New England and New York by non-commercial community-based entities.

The award winners for work done during 2024 are:
*Second place – “City of Methuen Mayoral Forum” (Issues & Political Process Category).
*Second place – “Give Back: Clean River Project” (General Talk Show).
*Third place – “Methuen Now” (September 2024) – (News Programming).

“We are pleased that these three programs were recognized as we felt they were our best work from that year and they are all very different,” said Karen Hayden, executive director. “We are always trying to elevate the content and look of the productions, such as adding new set elements as we did in the Mayoral Forum, that really shine.”

MCS is a non-profit community media center which manages the public and government access TV channels on Comcast and Verizon for the City of Methuen. The content is also streamed and available on demand on the website (methuentv.org). The award-winning programs are available there.

Residents of Methuen are encouraged not only to watch the content available through MCS, but also to create their own. MCS offers classes and opportunities to create media to share with the community. For more information, visit methuentv.org.
