Wellness Journey
continues
Let’s keep the momentum going toward health and happiness. Join us this month to find out how weather impacts your breathing throughout the seasons. Meet with our public nurse, Karen Ferullo, RN, on Feb. 17 for an informative and fun session on heart health. On Feb 5, learn strategies and receive resources to help dementia caregivers prevent burnout. On Feb. 2, we have invited Wound Nurse Priscilla Cruz, RN for an informative talk on wound care.
Winter-weather

If Methuen Public Schools are closed due to inclement weather, all programs at the center will be canceled. If the schools have a two-hour delay, the center will also have a two-hour delay. This is all for your safety!
Thrift Shop hours
Our Thrift Shop is open to the public Monday to Thursday, 9am-3pm and Friday, 9am-noon. Come, browse and shop. The Thrift Shop will host a Fill A Bag for $5 on Feb. 17.
Clinic hours
Our clinic is open Tuesdays, 9-11am with nurses Faith and Maggie and from 11am-4pm with the City of Methuen nurse Karen Ferullo, plus Thursdays, 9am-3pm with Nurse Ferullo.
Tax appointments
AARP Foundation Tax-Aide provides tax assistance to anyone, free of charge, with a focus on taxpayers who are 50 and have low to moderate income. You do not need to be an AARP member to utilize this program. AARP volunteers have started taking appointments. Call (978) 983-8825 for information.
Matter of Balance

AgeSpan offers Matter of Balance, a free 8-week course offered at the Senior Center every Tuesday from Jan. 13 until March 3. If you missed the first couple of classes, you can still sign up. Learn practical ways to prevent and manage falls. Build confidence, flexibility and strength, and stay independent. If you have fallen or are afraid that you may fall, this program is for YOU!
Mental-health
help is here!
The Community Response Team is excited to hold office hours at the Methuen Senior Activity Center. This is a collaboration between the City of Methuen and Front Line Community Services. PATH provides access to mental-health services. If you have questions in regard to mental health, are seeking access to resources or just want to chat, PATH will be at the center Tuesdays, 12-3pm and Wednesdays, 9-11am.
Ukulele lessons
Learn and play the Ukulele. The first meeting was a huge success. If you are interested in learning to play the ukulele, join us every Thursday from 10am-noon in the lower lounge.
Trips
Come to the Methuen Senior Activity Center and receive the information on trips that are planned for 2026! There are day trips and overnight trips with Royal Tours. In addition, we offer extended tours with Collette Vacations!
Veterans Breakfast
Attention, veterans: Please join us at the Methuen Senior Activity Center for breakfast Feb. 11 at 10am. Breakfast is sponsored by McDonald’s.

Valentine gathering
On Feb. 12 at 11:30am, Meals on Wheels will feature our traveling chef. The cost is $2. You will also be entertained by the one and only DJ Mark Rich. Don’t miss this exciting event.
