Snow-tubers and sledders hit a winter trifecta last month: a half-foot of fresh-fallen snow, a federal holiday and all systems GO at Hickory Hill Golf Course!
The spot’s impressive main-entrance on North Lowell Street was PACKED on Martin Luther King Jr. Day! The young and young-at-heart bundled up and spent an up-and-down day aboard colorful saucers, bouncy tubes, savage sleds and rad snowboards. It was every man, woman and child for themselves as the front-yard hill was slick as an ice rink from the nonstop action and glaring sunshine.
A few teen tubers built a ramp that was hard to resist. While some kids experienced the smooth thrill of victory, others crash-landed in the agony of defeat! But it was all in good fun, and the rosy cheeks, shrill screams and hearty laughter were sure signs of delight in the great outdoors …
