The inaugural Methuen Community Thanksgiving Service was a massive success!
The faithful filled the pews for a combination service and concert at historic First Church Congregational. In addition to First Church, participating in song were members of First Baptist Church, St. Monica, St. Andrew Episcopal, St Therese’s, St. Augustine and South Church.
First Church Rev. Dr. Ann Rogers-Brigham welcomed guests; the Rev Nathaniel Burnes of First Baptist read Psalm 100; Father Gregory Vozzo from Our Lady of Good Counsel read the gospel from John 6:25-35 and offered a reflection, and the Rev Eleanor Prior of St. Andrew offered prayers of the people as the congregation sang responses.
It was both uplifting and unifying.
Both monetary donations and nonperishable food items were collected for Neighbors In Need food pantry.
