Thousands share community pride during Methuen Day ’25

From 10am-3pm, Hampshire Street was continuously filled with close to 4,000 visitors as there was plenty to do and see.

Another Methuen Day is in the books! The beautiful weather took thousands of people to downtown Methuen to enjoy all it had to offer. There were 80 vendors ranging from youth sports groups to nonprofits and businesses. Seven food vendors lined Lowell Street offering sweet and savory treats alike.
Mayor David “DJ” Beauregard opened Methuen Day encouraging all “to enjoy this beautiful weather and have fun!”
Kicking off the day in the entertainment area was the band Jazzberry. The Happy Hearts Chorus from the Methuen Senior Activity Center sang an array of songs, filling the air for the large crowd. American Entertainment’s DJ Mike (Phillips) was also on hand providing music for several dance routines from Dance Images as well as costumed characters greeting guests of all ages throughout the day. Over in the children’s area there were bounce houses, a face painter, tumble mats from Interstate Gymnastics and a balloon artist.
Methuen Police and Fire departments also held their open houses that day. Methuen Police set up at the corner of Lowell and Hampshire streets with drone demonstrations, police vehicles for the little ones to enjoy along with goodie bags. Over at the Central Fire Station, there were Jaws of Life demonstrations where the apparatus tore through a vehicle showing how a trapped person is extricated. Firefighters served their guests pizza and gave out goodie bags and fire hats to kids.
Recreation Director Steve Angelo, who oversaw the event, commented, “There were between 3,000 to 4,000 people who attended Methuen Day this year. The weather was perfect. I want to thank our Methuen Day Committee for the great job in putting everything together.”
“This year’s Methuen Day was a wonderful celebration of community. It was great to meet so many residents coming together as one Methuen,” commented Mayor Beauregard. “Many thanks to our Recreation Director Steve Angelo and his team, the Methuen Day Committee, and all the vendors who made this event such a great success. I would also like to thank our wonderful DPW for their assistance with everything they did to help.”
Methuen Day 2025 was sponsored by; Methuen Family Dentistry, NESC Credit Union, Cedar View Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center, Dave’s Chimney Service, Merrimack Health, Be Known Custom Apparel and the Merrimack Valley Chamber of Commerce.

Merrimack Health joined Methuen Day providing blood-pressure checks for anyone who wanted one. They also passed out information on the changes at the hospital Methuen hospital, formerly known as Holy Family.
