The Regency at Methuen’s Outreach Club recently hosted a house-essential shower for Emmaus, Inc.
Emmaus, based in Haverhill, provides emergency shelter to families and individuals in 99 units of permanent affordable housing with case management, financial literacy education, employment training, life skills, job search and job placement to their guests to end homelessness. This is the fourth year that the Regency, a 55-plus community located in West Methuen, has been pleased to hold the shower to supply Emmaus with needed items for their residents to set up their new apartment or housing setting. The Regency donated hundreds of items to assist the Emmaus residents as they begin their journey to rebuild their lives.
Emmaus’ administration staff attended to share stories of their experience working at Emmaus. CEO Al Hanscom spoke of his 34 years working within the organization and took numerous questions from the attendees on the depth of the services Emmaus provides to the Merrimack Valley. Hansom introduced his professional and efficient staff who accompanied him to the event.
Director of Programs Jeannette Garcia, Volunteer & In-Kind Manager Hayley Jenkerson and Director of Programs Cristina Santiago all shared their experiences working at Emmaus.
Since 1985, Emmaus has assisted over 42,000 women, men and children move from homelessness toward permanent housing, jobs and self-sufficiency.
