Holy Family Hospital is re-named Merrimack Health Methuen Hospital

“We are here today to celebrate a brand-new beginning,” said Interim President and CEO of Lawrence General Hospital and Holy Family Hospital Diana Richardson. “It was almost a year ago today that together we envisioned a unified healthcare system, one that would ensure continued access and quality care for many throughout our region – trusted, compassionate care. We stand here today to celebrate a major milestone with the announcement of our new name and identity.”

Last month, at the main entrance of the former Holy Family Hospital on East Street, Richardson addressed a large crowd of 200-plus people including doctors, nurses and other staff as well as hospital Board of Trustees and state and local officials.
“We stand here today to announce our new brand identity. I am proud to announce our new healthcare system’s name, Merrimack Health,” she said. “We believe this name reflects the strength, resilience and interconnectedness of this region that many of us call home. It also honors where we’ve been and where we are going.”

The local hospitals’ locations will be designated in their name: Merrimack Health Methuen, Merrimack Health Lawrence and Merrimack Health Haverhill.

Rosemarie Day serves as Board of Trustees chair for both Lawrence General and Holy Family.

Lt. Gov. Kim Driscoll served as guest speaker: “I think it speaks volumes on the collection of folks who are here, the amazing healthcare workers who support us every day, who help ensure that we’re not only talking about health outcomes but the delivery of service close to home at such a high quality. It makes a big difference in the quality of life. This region relies on all of you who are here too, every day, to meet those needs.”
