The Marsh School made a couple administrative changes over the summer, leading to last month’s Meet and Greet with school families.
Dr. Christina DiBenedetto, the new Upper School associate principal, is a familiar face. She’s taught seventh- and eighth-grade science there for the past six years. She previously served as a middle school assistant principal and as a high school principal, both in Lawrence. She replaces Robert Marino who is now working in another district.
“Marsh students are really wonderful and parents are so supportive. The collaboration is great!” DiBenedetto said.
“And we’ve got a really dedicated group of teachers who are so helpful and look out for each other. I’m looking forward to serving (the Marsh) in a different capacity, where I’ve already got a nice foundation with students.”
Colleen Panici is a Methuen resident who has worked as a paraprofessional, special education teacher, and Education Team Facilitator (ETF) in Haverhill. For the past 20 years, she has worked with special education students at all grade levels. At the Marsh, where there are about 15 special education teachers, her role will oversee students on Individual Education Plans (IEPs) as well as the Pathways program. Panici replaces Chelsea Keating.
In addition to saying hello and introducing themselves, the new administrators joined Supervising Principal Rebecca Gordon and Lower School Associate Principal Cynthia Bennett (with her adorable dog Teddy) in handing out Freeze Pops and snacks to families having fun on the kindergarten playground.
