A big yellow school bus parked in front of the Nevins Memorial Library was a hit for incoming kindergarten students, as they geared up to start their first day in Methuen Public Schools.
Last month, Superintendent Brandi Kwong greeted close to 100 parents and their kindergarten children who were invited to a Meet and Greet at the library with the principal of each school. She told the students and parents what to expect and answered questions regarding bus routes and other concerns for parents.
Each student was presented with a folder full of materials, including coloring pages and information about their new school and what to expect as a kindergartner.
Greater Lawrence Family Health Center staffers were also on hand passing out backpacks loaded with coloring books, crayons, pencils, books and more for the kids to enjoy.
Methuen Public Schools’ kindergarten classes start Thursday, Sept. 4.
