Central Catholic High School senior Brady Barry of Methuen was named valedictorian for the Class of 2025.
This fall, he will be attending Brown University in Rhode Island to double major in Linguistics and Physics. Brady has successfully completed 12 Advanced Placement courses throughout his four years at CCHS. He is the son of is Kevin Barry and Kimberly Swanson.
Currently, Brady aspires to write in academic journals across the globe and learn new languages.
“Writing a biblical exegetical work is also a dream of mine. I have also mulled over my religious vocation in the Catholic Church, particularly concerning whether I want to become a non-ordained friar or take Holy Orders,” he shared.
Outside of the classroom, he participated in a variety of activities including National Honor Society (NHS vice president and Resource Center tutor); Marist Mentors (Executive Board, Online Tutoring director); Student Volunteer for Campus Ministry; cross country; volunteer for Lazarus House; Visions Literary & Arts Magazine; student ambassador; DECA; lector/volunteer for St. Anthony Maronite Church; intermediate epée fencing at Vivo Fencing (Haverhill); and director and founder of “Le Nouvel Ami du Peuple” blog with guest authors.
Beyond CCHS, Brady still made time to serve others: “Two community service experiences that I enjoy are rooted in the Marist charism: Marist Mentors and my work as a lector for St. Anthony Maronite Church. In Marist Mentors, I tutored students and serve on the Executive Board, and I also enjoyed being a lector at St. Anthony Maronite Church because I act as a positive role model to my peers.”
