TGI Friday’s hosted an “Olympic” event benefiting Methuen Arlington Neighborhood recently, with 12 teams participating.
Restaurant manager Cathy DiGaetano said, “We give back to the community by hosting these events to benefit different organizations. These fund-raisers help so many.”
The fun, exciting and sometimes hilarious races at the second annual MAN Inc., Spring Olympics included unfolding a frozen T-shirt, separating M&Ms with a straw and picking up marshmallows with a spatula while blindfolded, among others.
Teams included The Unstoppables, MAN Inc. Youth, Los Banditos, Methuen Police and Fire, Chugging Woodpeckers, Pope Cooling and Heating, The Tibby’s, Pink Panthers, Fireball Squad, Red Hot Heroes and Worker Bees. Nine teams were from MAN Inc.
Winning the gold was the team of MAN Inc. Youth, while silver went to Los Banditos and the bronze was awarded to the Methuen Police Department.
MAN Inc., founder Linda Soucy said, “It was such a fun night. We are so appreciative to all the residents, including both Methuen police and fire, who came out to have fun and support us.”
The games and raffles raised a total of $2,316 for MAN Inc., programs which support low-income families.
The M&M game had Tanya Rodriguez and other players using a straw to pick up the colored candies and placing them – by color – into separate glasses.
