At a March staff meeting, the Marsh Grammar School honored Dan Stanley for the countless hours he has volunteered there over the past 13 years with cake and a citation from the district. Prior to COVID, he volunteered his time in the Media Center. After COVID and the repurposing of the Media Center, which included packing of all the library books, he created a book train, decked out with a train engine on the front of a cart, a train conductor’s hat on his head and blowing a train whistle. He visits classrooms and shares books that students can borrow. After two weeks, he returns with the book train; students return their books and choose another. He has also been an advocate in the district to bring back school library staffing.
“We are tremendously grateful and appreciate him so much!” noted Supervising Principal Rebecca Gordon.
