Central Catholic High School senior Ava Perrotta of Methuen recently signed her National Letter of Intent (NLI) committing to continue her academic and athletic career at Division I University of Massachusetts Lowell in fall 2025.

Ava participates in several activities including CCHS varsity field hockey, indoor track and field and softball teams, Student Ambassadors and Peer Leaders. She also plays travel softball for Polar Crush. 

She also makes time to serve others.

“I volunteered at a learning center called Wonder Years Learning Center in Salem, New Hampshire. Every time I would walk into the building, I would be greeted at the door by children who were excited to learn and spend time with me. It made me happy that I could help children learn things I have been taught in years past,” she said. 

Ava’s teachers have played a very supportive role in her CCHS experience, specifically Stacy Ciccolo, Social Studies faculty and softball coach.

“Ms. Ciccolo has made an impact on my experience here at CCHS. She has taught me lessons not only on the softball field, but in school too. She has made Central feel welcoming, and I know I can always go to her about anything. I will always remember Coach Ciccolo for her amazing ability to make school fun in and out of the classroom,” Ava said.

Ava is part of a strong CCHS legacy including Anthony Perrotta ’97 (father), Thomas Perrotta ’69 (grandfather), Jeremy Perrotta ’17 (uncle) and Isabella Perrotta ’22 (aunt).

“Central Catholic makes me feel special! I can not only be myself, but I can find ways to improve my knowledge in and out of the classroom,” said Ava.
