Our Lady of Good Counsel Parish kicked off its 25th anniversary celebration in September with several events and will continue with others until Sept. 20, 2025.

The parish was formed July 1, 2000 by the merger of St. Augustine Church in Lawrence and St Theresa’s in Methuen. Both churches retained their names under the umbrella of Our Lady of Good Counsel, and Masses are celebrated at each site.

The first anniversary event was a family block party at St. Augustine Church in Lawrence, organized by the Tower Hill Neighborhood Association. There was also a pasta supper at St. Theresa’s Church on Elm Street.

“Our goal is to reach out to people in both communities by doing things together and talking about our mission,” said Father Gregory Vozzo, pastor.

A 25th Anniversary Committee has been meeting to come up with other events. The highlight of the anniversary year will be a Mass of Thanksgiving with the archbishop and a banquet at Lenzi’s, said Father Gregory.
