Pentucket Players brings the Tony Award-winning musical “The Drowsy Chaperone” to Haverhill City Hall’s auditorium this month, and Methuen’s Ron Bourque is part of the cast.
Set in the apartment of a devoted theater fan, “The Drowsy Chaperone” springs to life when a 1920s musical is played on his record player, filling his living room with the characters and antics of a bygone era. The musical – a delightful tribute to Broadway’s Golden Age – unfolds with mistaken identities, romantic entanglements and hilarious misunderstandings.
Joining director John Buzzell is a creative team of local talent, including music director John Eldridge and producer Olivia Feole. Shannon Eldridge stars as the Drowsy Chaperone, bringing her own flair to the iconic role. Methuen’s Bourque brings to life the pivotal character of The Man in the Chair, who anchors the entire show with wit and warmth.
Performance dates are Friday, Nov. 22 at 7:30pm; Saturday, Nov. 23 at 2 and 7:30pm; and Sunday, Nov. 24 at 2pm. Tickets are $30-$40 and are now on sale at pentucket.booktix.com. Haverhill City Hall Auditorium is located at 4 Summer St.
