Time to gather, dance, get artsy, socialize and celebrate – Methuen style!
Methuen Day is set for Saturday, Oct. 5 from 10am-3pm in Methuen Square (Hampshire Street). This family-friendly experience features live performances, a community art exhibit, local vendors, interactive booths, lawn games, an archery range, kids activities and so much more. Admission is free.
Methuen Police and Fire departments will both offer open houses this same day, as they have in the past. But MPD “is trying something different this year,” according to Police Lt. Jim Gunter. “This year we’re taking our open house down the street.”
They expect to set up displays in the Methuen Square parking area across from Liban D’Or. There will be a drone demo, a table of SWAT equipment, a police cruiser and motorcycle for the public to check out, and more.
The Fire Department will welcome guests to the nearby Central Station from 10am-2pm. There will be tours, vehicle/equipment demos, safety tips, a visit from Marshal the Fire Dog, refreshments and more.
