Early in-person voting starts Oct. 19

Voting for president, as well as for Massachusetts’ federal and state officials and on five state ballot questions, begins this month.

In Methuen, the in-person early voting schedule runs Saturday, Oct. 19 to Friday, Nov. 1 and is done at Sanborn Hall’s Public Safety Building at 90 Hampshire St. Early in-person voting is available to every registered voter.

Here’s the schedule:

Saturday, Oct. 19 and 26, 9am-3pm.

Sunday, Oct. 20 and 27, 9am-3pm.

Monday, Oct. 21 and 28, 8am-4:30pm.

Tuesday, Oct. 22 and 29, 8am-4:30pm.

Wednesday, Oct. 23 and 30, 8am-4:30pm.

Thursday, Oct. 24 and 31, 8am-4:30pm.

Friday, Oct. 25 and Nov. 1, 8am-noon.

There are ballot questions for Massachusetts voters.

Question 1: State Auditor’s Authority to Audit the Legislature.

Question 2: Elimination of MCAS as High School Graduation Requirement.

Question 3: Unionization for Transportation Network Drivers.

Question 4: Limited Legalization and Regulation of Certain Natural Psychedelic Substances.

Question 5: Minimum Wage for Tipped Workers.

The last day to register to vote is Saturday, Oct. 26. Check your registration status at VoteInMA.com. You can register to vote online, by mail or in person.

The last day to request a mail-in ballot is Tuesday, Oct. 29. Go to VoteInMA.com for an application. Submit your completed application (online, by mail, e-mail, fax or in person) to the Methuen City Clerk’s Office. Ballots will be mailed out beginning in early October. Return your completed ballot to Methuen City Hall. If mailing, it must be postmarked by Nov. 5 and must reach the election office by Nov. 8 in order to be counted. There is also a red-white-and-blue ballot drop-off box outside the main entrance of City Hall.
 

The state/presidential general election is Tuesday, Nov. 5. Polling hours are 7am-8pm.
