SQUIRT AA CHAMPS!

Methuen Youth Hockey’s Squirt 1 team won the Squirt North American AA Championship, beating the Crusaders 7-3. The team roster includes players Samson Cantara, Dominic Lorenzi, Austin Boss, Ben Herald, Michael Witherspoon, Ryan Sedleski, Nolan Deveau, Logan Couture, Cayden Atwood, Corbin Lozowski, Liam Mulvanity and Colin Mueskes. SOI Ladies Bocce champs

: The first-place winners (shown) were Teri Fleming, Lorraine Delandy, Mary Ann Sollomi and Lucy Ballash. Second place went to Jan Abate, Judy Salemme, Mary Johnson and Amy Walsh.

: Last month, 60-plus participants took part in the Methuen Sons of Italy Lodge 902’s Ladies Bocce Tournament. Players from lodge’s weekly league were captains and those who never, or rarely, play made a team of four. There was great enthusiasm, fun and laughter as all rolled their bocce balls in hopes of winning! The tourney opened with a breakfast buffet, followed by a family-style lunch of pasta, chicken cutlets, salads and Italian bread.
