No matter your age, we all want to look good and in style!

Last month the Methuen Senior Activity Center held a Fashion Show with Methuen High School students who attend the Adopt-a-Grandparent program. The “adopted grandparents” hosted the runway show while the students, using “fashions” they put together from the center’s Thrift Store, coordinated each other’s outfits.

Nineteen students took part in the fashion show. Wearing everything from very colorful outfits to fashionable suits, the teens strutted the runway showing off the clothing – enhanced by some teen energy – for a cheering audience.

After the show, audience members voted for best outfits. Each winner received a bag full of goodies.

MHS students meet at the Senior Center after school every Wednesday to play board games, dance, sing, play pool and cards, and talk about current events. The program is in its 22nd year, with 35 students currently participating. MHS’ Jeffrey Bellistri is the student adviser for program.

The Methuen Senior Center Thrift Shop, at 77 Lowell St., is open Monday to Thursday from 9am-3pm and Fridays, 9am-noon. Browse the volunteer-run store and check out the super deals! They also accept clean, like-new donations.
