First Baptist Church is hosting an event Oct. 19 at 1pm to thank the community for supporting its painting project. The historic church received a top-to-bottom paint job, its first in 20 years, and the project was featured in last month’s issue of MethuenLife. The event will include speakers such as Mayor Neil Perry and gospel music led by The Majority and other guest musicians. A luncheon follows. “We just want to thank the community for their spiritual and financial support,” said First Baptist pastor, the Rev. Nathaniel Burnes. ML photo by Melissa Fili
