National Night Out 2024 was again a success in Methuen, with a total of 16 neighborhoods throughout the city participating.
This annual end-of-summer community-building event promotes police and community partnerships and is a time to get to know your neighbors. It’s also a time to enhance the relationship between your neighbors and law enforcement.
While some neighborhoods had cookouts, others hosted pot-luck dinners, pizza and ice cream and some even had a DJ! Methuen Arlington Neighborhood started their event with a cookout and raffled off children’s bikes.
Participating neighborhoods included: Methuen Housing Authority on Mystic Street, Davis Road, Union Street, Hampshire Circle, Chippy Lane, Youngfarm Road, Hidden Road, Temple Drive, Rebecca Way, Westgate Circle, Glen Avenue, Riverside Drive, Franklin Street, Emery Street, Pinetree Drive and Pleasant Valley Gardens/Bonanno Farms.

- Officer Kara McMenamon was a hit with the little ones at Westgate Circle with her bag of treats she for them as they patiently lined up.

- Methuen Housing Authority on Mystic Street had pizza at their block party, and everyone attending joined in for a group photo.

- Young people at the Methuen Arlington Neighborhood created signs reading, “NO Drugs/NO Gangs” and proudly wore them throughout the day!
